Despite being a small town, over the past ten years, Hudson has grown into a full-fledged dining destination.


Practically overflowing with options, from butcher shops and bakeries to specialty grocers and farmers markets, if you’re shopping for ingredients you’ll be absolutely spoiled for choice. On the dining front, casse-croûte institution Sauvé serves classic snack bar staples while Main Kitchen and Embers offer a taste of fine dining. Looking to wet your whistle? Alibi Lounge’s sensational cocktails always impress and just down the road, local brewery Cardinal makes some of the region’s best beer.

1. Alibi Lounge

A sophisticated speakeasy in the heart of Hudson. After visiting many of the world’s top cocktail bars, owner Alex Mate opened Alibi Lounge as a way to bring a taste of the best bars home. While classic cocktails are always done justice, Alibi’s perfectly balanced signature cocktails are what keep the crowds coming back night after night.

2. Furley

Meat, bread, wine — what else could you ask for? Chef Shaun Hughes and wife Julie Bagwell’s neighbourhood butcher shop, bakery and gourmet grocer has become a neighbourhood staple since opening back in 2019. From quality local-raised meats to freshly made cinnamon buns, donuts, focaccia and a cellar full of privately imported wines, Furley is the starting point for any great meal.

3. Restaurant Sauvé

Originally opened in 1960, Sauvé has been the go-to casse-croûte in Hudson for over 60 years. The vintage decor, full of sports memorabilia, gives it an old-school diner feel which is matched by the easygoing service and menu of pitch-perfect snack bar classics. Whether you’re in the mood for a classic steamé, juicy cheeseburger or saucy poutine you’ll find what you’re looking for here. In the mood for something sweet? Chippies, their ice cream shop next door, serves up soft serve, dipped cones, and an incredible caramel sundae.

4. Mikko

A boutique café and roastery dedicated to quality, sustainability, and community. Founded in 2014, Mikko has become the destination for coffee aficionados and casual drinkers alike. Using beans from Kaito, its partner roastery located behind the shop, Mikko is best known for its silky lattes, vibrant cold brew, and exquisite expresso.

5. Café Campagne

Hudson’s quintessential brunch spot. Known for its inviting and laid-back vibe, Café Campagne serves up hearty breakfast plates, generous omelettes, and beautiful eggs benedict all with their signature flavour of home-style hospitality.

6. Cardinal Microbrewery

Founded in 2020 inside a converted autobody shop, Cardinal is a microbrewery run by Duncan Cowie and Will Tomkinson. With a constantly growing selection of beers in cans and on tap, whether you’re looking for a refreshing pilsner, spiced Bock, or hoppy IPA they’ve got the perfect brew for you. A community hub, Cardinal also regularly hosts live music, stand-up comedy, trivia nights and more. Dog and kid-friendly.

7. Chateau du Lac

Hudson’s favourite pub and Quebéc’s oldest running bar with a history dating back to 1898.  From live music to karaoke and even the occasional dance party, the “Chat” as it’s known to locals, is where you come for a good drink and a good time. Don’t miss the Caesar which locals will attest is the best in town.

8. Pop Culture
